    Description

    I do not know the exact origin or date of this beautifully decorated box. It appears to be quite old with the details and the way it was made. The bottom was chamfered and the sides were dovetailed with very small pegs. I tried to show the dovetail work in photo #7 but it was hard to catch the workmanship because of the heavy coat of paint. The gold paint is quite shiny but has worn in some places, especially on the top. The brass handles and lock are in good shape, but I have no key and the lock mechanism on the top is missing. Also there are a few cracks in the wood. I tried to give an adequate description of this beautiful box so please email me if you have further questions. It measures 11”x7”x5.
