Attractive Old Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain Shard Domed Lid Silver Colored Metal Trinket Box.
The box's external sides have two rows of berries, flowers & leaves with decorative beaded borders embossed in the metal. The top is inlaid with a beautiful antique porcelain shard from a famille rose jar depicting a boy engaged in outdoor activity, perhaps holding a firecracker. The boy is wearing aqua blue trousers and a rose tunic and there is a green structure on the edge of the shard. It would make a great addition to a collection or as an interesting stand alone decorative accent piece on a table or bookshelf. The size is 4 1/8" wide x 3" deep x 1 1/2" tall.
The box is in good estate condition and will display nicely. There are a few small nicks and some scratches in the antique porcelain shard and the metal shows age-related tarnish.
