Chinese Cloisonné 1960 Figural Pheasant Trinket Boxes Set MIB NR

Up for auction is a matched pair of figural trinket boxes in the form of two Pheasants and all nice and minty in their original box. Our avian duo measure 3 3/4 inches long by 2 3/4 inches high and feature brilliant looking colors and graphics. The male sports a colorful set of wings. Both birds remain in near perfect condition and are free of any cracks, chips, breaks, scuff or scratches. The base metal appears to be brass with an interior painted a near cobalt blue enamel. Of course everything is contained in an original compartment gift box. This too remains clean and bright overall with only a trace of light minor edgewear from long term storage. Corners are intact and free of any splits or tears. Last, while they have no maker's chopmark or other markings.
A little backstory on this particular set. These came from the estate of a US diplomat to China from the 50's to 1985---who assisted with opening the Chinese markets in the 70's and early 80's--and she purchased many non-export items directly from shops in Beijing; so I suspect this may be one of those. Overall a minty piece of Cloisonné and all for a low start and no reserve. Winning Tourist to pay US postage (and insurance if desired).
