This is a bright maroon and pink lacquered abalone jewelry box.
This one has extremely elaborate and intricate work.
This is a beautiful decorative Chinese, lacquered jewelry box with four compartments.
The scene is one of birds, trees, flowers, etc.
The whole composition is beautiful as it show cases the natural shine of the abalone inlay and the mother-of pearl inlay.
There is a silver tone butterfly latch on the front. When you unlock it, the box becomes 2 cubes.
Each cube has 2 drawers for a total of 4 drawers.
Each drawer has an inlay butterfly and a small space to pull out the drawers with your fingers.
The top of the box and the front side have elaborate abalone inlay work.
The bottom and back side of the lacquer box has an attractive bright maroon lacquer polish.
Both sides of the box have elaborate floral inlay with a lovely pink border and inlay.
It shines even in a room with natural light. But in light or sunlight, the rays dance on the fine inlay.
