This portable travel vanity has a fold up beveled glass mirror in the top compartment that unfolds and rests inside the top of the box lid while in use. These small vanities were passed down through generations as a common piece of the wedding trousseau.  A pull out drawer below holds makeup, jewelry, or other small treasures.  The drawer is lined with red velveteen fabric as is the floor of the upper compartment where the mirror stows. The piece has all its original hinges, latches and other hardware, and is in excellent pre-owned condition, with only minor cosmetic wear and scuffs.The rare and unusual  box measures: 12" inches [30.48cm] long x 9" inches [22.86cm] wide x 7" inches [17.78cm] tall
