It is in very nice condition. There is no damage. There is some light surface wear/utensil marks. This piece displays very well.

In doing research I think this is an officially licensed plate sold to the general public. In doing research seems the original dining plates were 9” or 9 3/4” ( depending on website you read).

This is an authentic licensed Branford College Dining Hall/Saybrook College Dining Hall plate displaying the classic design of the shared dinnerware from the dining halls of these two Residential Colleges. Yale University is one of the top Universities in the world and the gem of the Ivy League. In undergraduate life at Yale, each student belongs to one of now 14 Residential Colleges. Until recently, each college dining hall had its own distinct dinnerware. The university has recently quit this tradition and has switched over to a uniform China pattern across its Dining halls.
You can get your hands legally on this unique Branford Saybrook Dinner Plate before these can no longer be found.
After the University switched to uniform dinnerware, it issued licenses for the printing of these dishes for sale to the general public. These licensed dinner plates appear to no longer be available.
