Vintage Chinese Rosewood Peanut Box ~ Finely Detailed Hand Carving ~ Longevity

Description

This listing is for a vintage hand carved rosewood box in the shape of a peanut.  The outside measures almost 9" from stem to tip.
The outside of the box is finely detailed and textured with carved leaves and stems and smaller peanuts. The inside is smooth which shows the lovely wood grain. Note there is a small chip from the rim of one side which is shown in a close up photo.
We were told that in Chinese culture, peanuts represent longevity, prosperity, and wisdom so this would make a great gift for a special someone.
