Vintage Floral Enameled Cloisonné and Hand Carved Cinnabar Apple Trinket Box 2".
This apple shaped trinket box is a beautiful example of craftsmanship. The brass base is covered with white background cloisonné, intertwined with violet and red florals, and connected by greenery. The edges of the box that meet have a blue cloisonné scalloped edge. Between these two areas is red hand carved cinnabar floral accents. The apple has a brass stem and a blue enamel bottom. The inside is royal blue enamel, The lid and bottom have lips to keep them beautifully aligned. It is wonderful to see such delicate and intricate work done on such a small canvas.
Condition -
This trinket box is in used condition. Due to the hand painted nature, there are some imperfections in the enamel. There are no chips or cracks but there are signs of wear on the blue scalloped border and the blue enameled bottom. Please refer to the posted photos to see the current condition.
